Dennis Hall matriculated at Cambridge University in 1870 (B.A. 1874; M.A., 1878), but was not affiliated to a college. He was ordained deacon in 1876, and priest in 1880, and was curate of Stow-cum-Quy, Cambridgeshire, 1876-1882, and Vicar of Impington, 1882-1916. Hall was honorary assistant under-librarian at Cambridge University Library for nearly fifty years, retiring in 1902. He died in September 1916.
